Our research team is actively engaged in conducting global IUCN Red List assessments for plant species across India. As part of our ongoing commitment to biodiversity conservation, we are currently assessing more than 200 plant species that are endemic to India, many of which face increasing threats from habitat loss, environmental change, and anthropogenic pressures.
Through rigorous data collection, field surveys, ecological analysis, and application of the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria, we aim to generate scientifically robust assessments that contribute to global conservation planning. This work supports evidence-based decision-making, prioritization of threatened species, and long-term strategies for habitat protection and ecological restoration.
Our initiative strengthens India’s representation on the global conservation map and advances our mission to safeguard the country’s unique and irreplaceable botanical heritage.
