Summer Internship: Field Training

A three-day Summer Internship Field Training was successfully conducted at Athirapilly–Vazhachal, focusing on ecological sampling techniques, plant identification, and bird watching. The program offered participants hands-on experience in biodiversity documentation within the ecologically significant Western Ghats region. Through guided field sessions, interns learned to apply standard ecological methods, identify native plant species, and observe a wide range of bird species in their natural habitats. The training not only enhanced participants’ field skills but also deepened their understanding of the ecological richness and conservation challenges of the Athirapilly–Vazhachal landscape. The event concluded with interactive discussions and reflections, reinforcing the importance of field-based learning in ecological research and conservation.
